My client, a leading property management firm in NYC is urgently seeking an assistant property manager to join their team. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in property management as an assistant and have previous experience working with condos and coops.
The company manages a variety of buildings across 4 boroughs of NYC and mainly focuses on condos and coops, their smallest complex has just 5 units, and the largest has 125 units. They also take care of some luxury rental buildings but this makes up a very small portion of their portfolio.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5 years of previous experience in the property management industry
- 3 years of previous experience assisting managers with condos and coops
- Strong sense of independent working, able to work from own initiative.
- Previous experience using property management software and technology.
- Demonstrated ability to support property managers with large-scale projects
- Good understanding of NYC property laws including violations.
- Knowledge of Local Law 11 and previous experience working on Local Law 11 Projects is highly desirable.
Duties & Role
- Assist the property managers with ensuring day to day running of the building runs smoothly.
- Liaise with both supers and handymen ensuring tasks and priorities for the day are delegated and outlined.
- Work closely with the admin, compliance, and accounts team to request specific reports such as violations and building financials, review reports and dissect for PMs
- Organize various services and maintenance jobs to be completed for the building such as fire extinguisher checks, sprinkler services, etc.
- Liaise with contractors and vendors to ensure work is completed to high standards.
- Assist with the management of Local Law 11 projects such as large exterior remodels, roofs, etc.
- Take responsibility and accountability for your role.
