The Pharmacy provides high-quality medical services to the local community and keeps customer service and patient care at the heart of everything they do, completing over 250 prescriptions a day, the pharmacy is busy and fast-paced but still ensures its patients receive the best possible service and care. They are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Tech to join them on their growth journey and become an integral part of the team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year previous Pharmacy Technician experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good math skills, able to calculate medication amounts
- Excellent customer service and patient care skills
- Previous experience using Pharmacy Software
- Being bilingual in both English and Spanish would be a huge advantage but is not a requirement
- Able to be on your feet for most of the day
- Confident in working with a team to achieve goals and service-level agreements
- Previous experience working with at least 200 prescriptions per day
- Previous experience in a small/independent pharmacy would be ideal.
- Must have own vehicle and driver’s license and be able to commute to work daily.
- Working hours are 30-35 per week, intending to increase to 40-45 hours per week when the pharmacy moves to Watertown, all hours are Monday to Friday, and no weekends are required.
Duties & Role
- Support the staff pharmacist in filling prescriptions, counting out medication, and labeling containers
- Learn the blister pack process and support the blister pack tech when needed
- Ensure accuracy when counting out and filling the medication
- Provide front-facing customer service to clients, assist with medication directions and instructions, and relay any specific questions to the pharmacist on shift.
- Keep the pharmacy in good, tidy order.
- Operate the pharmacy POS system when required.
