Production Manager – Roofing

Our client, a mid-sized roofing specialist located just outside Denver, CO is seeking a highly organized and experienced Production Manager to join their dynamic roofing company.

As a Production Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the production process to ensure the efficient and timely completion of roofing projects. This position requires a strong background in roofing operations, excellent leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to source and recruit high-caliber production crews.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in roofing production management.
• Bachelors’ degree in construction management or business or related field
• Minimum of 5 years experience in roofing project/production management
• 7 years of experience in roofing project/production management in absence of a formal degree.
• Strong knowledge of roofing materials, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to source, recruit, and manage high-caliber production crews.
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to creating a safe work environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Solid reputation in the roofing industry
• Bilingual a plus.

Role & Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Scheduling:

• Develop detailed project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Coordinate with the sales team to understand project specifications and requirements.
• Create and maintain production schedules to ensure timely project completion
• Streamline existing processes and procedures. We do way too much on actual paper using our own forms.

2. Resource Management:

• Allocate and manage labor, equipment, and materials effectively.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of required materials.
• Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Work with our suppliers ordering systems to allow faster turnaround of orders.

3. Quality Assurance:

• Implement and enforce quality control measures to meet or exceed industry standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet company standards.
• Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.

4. Team Leadership:

• Supervise and lead production teams, including foremen and field staff.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

5. Recruitment and Talent Management:

• Source, recruit, and onboard high-caliber production crews.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and skilled labor.
• Implement strategies to attract and retain top talent in the roofing industry.

6. Safety Compliance:

• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
• Investigate and report any safety incidents, taking corrective action as needed.

7. Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact between production teams and other departments.
• Communicate project status, challenges, and resolutions to upper management.
• Maintain open lines of communication with clients to ensure satisfaction.

8. Budget Management:

• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring financial goals are met.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
